Pluck my brows

That’s what I want. I want someone to pluck my brows, eyebrows, that is. Oh, but I don’t want just anyone to pluck my brows. I want one of my time-banking peeps to pluck my brows.

It may sound silly, this request of mine. Odd, even. Perhaps outright quirky. That’s alright with me. I still want someone to pluck my brows. See, it’s just something I don’t do very well. I’m not a gifted brow-shaper. Nor did God and Genes give me lush thick brows from which to pluck. Nope, little downward-sloping light-colored hairs — and not many of them to work with — is what I have. So I need an expert. Or at least someone significantly better at this than I am.

Of course, I can traipse into most any salon and say, “I’m here to have my brows shaped,” and some $20+ later, said brows will be shaped. It’s not that I’m opposed to paying for services. My hair stylist knows that fer sure. What I’m angling for here is a richer, deeper and more robust use of the time-banking system in the Columbia/Hoco area. It would just be so awfully nice if I could find someone to pluck my brows for me every few weeks. Perhaps, while I waited for the redness to lessen a bit before heading back out to my public life, we could have tea together in my brow-plucker’s kitchen.

Wishful thinking? Silliness? I don’t know. My hopes remain high. If not in 2009, perhaps by 2010 such exchanges will be more commonplace.

What would you like someone to do for you in time banking? What would you offer?

  • I want someone to re-design my poor landscaping attempts for my front yard, based on my gardening ability. I should get around to asking for it on Timebanking.

What can I offer? That is so much harder.

  • Just found a brow (threading) plucking service at the Columbia Mall, near Sephora. $11. That’s a great price. And done by a pro! Not a time-banking member, but still …
