I’m borrowing an idea from someone who borrowed it from yet another. It goes like this: I’m going to make a financial donation to the Association of Community Services, of Howard County, for every new Twitter follower I get on @hocoblogs between now and January 15th.

But here’s my twist: I pay more money for more data. This is the deal:

• $.25 for every new follower with no info/no pic.
• $.50 for every new follower with a profile image or avatar and a short bio.
• $.75 for every new follower with a photo, bio, website link and a Howard County location posted (city/state).
• $1.00 for every new follower with all the above who also Tweets a message and promotes this opportunity. (Use the hashtag, #hocoacs, please, so I can track them.)

Here are few more details:

I’m on the board of ACS, and, as such, I want to help the organization raise funds, increase awareness and attract some stellar new board members in 2009 and beyond. (The latter is most appealing to me, so get your thinking cap on for who might be just the perfect fit.)

I’ll donate to ACS up to $500 of my own funds.

I’m delighted to receive matching grants, at any ratio you’re comfortable with, e.g. $1 to $1, $1 to 20 cents, or, heck, maybe even $1 to $5, or more! Your call! You’ll write your check directly to ACS, a 501(c)3, so any tax benefits are yours. Consider it: you’ll earn Community Coolness Status in a big way. And fast.

The @hocoblogs is currently a low-volume Twitter account. I post about hocoblogs.com parties and may tweet about interesting conversations going on in the hocoblogs.

@hocoblogs has 9 followers as of 12/9/08. So there’s lots of room for improvement here.

I’m looking for geographically desirable followers, e.g. if you live in New Hampshire, unless your parents live in Hoco, or you grew up here or something, please temper your enthusiasm.

I’d really appreciate your help in reaching my personal goal. Golly, maybe we’ll have some big community something-or-other happen and we”ll deliver mad cash to ACS. We’d certainly have to have a party to celebrate, if we do. Sounds like a fantastic plan to me.
