My world just got bigger.

Or, at least the type about 18 inches in front of my face did.

I finally accepted that, indeed, small type has been getting more challenging to read in the last few years. In acceptance of said fact, I got myself a pair of reading glasses. And, wowsa, since buying them, I’ve been reading print type as I did in years of yore.

I got mine at Mason & Friends, in Columbia, Md., which sells some really cute pairs for about $20 a pop. The pair I chose are a plaid of orange, yellow, white and a brownish-purplish-gray. I like them. They even come with matching carrying case.

  • Funny…I thought it was normal to have far away things look out of focus after concentrating on up-close work. Then I got progressive glasses and wonder of wonders…everything was in focus all the time.

Nice of you to link to the salon. I love the glasses there too.

  • My theory on the deterioration of sight with age is that it’s an evolutionary adaptation to ensure that male/female bonding is sustained. As we age, and our looks fade, so should the eyesight of our mates. Therefore, the optometric profession is directly to blame for the high divorce rate in this country.

Hmmm, that almost makes sense - doesn’t it?

  • Welcome to my world! Hey, at least it’s a clear world!

  • Mine are legit, but a lot of girls (and guys) I know buy them and replace the lenses with clear glass. So you’ll fit in just right with all the college aged New York hipsters!

Anthropologie has tons of super cute frames if you’re looking to change it up every once in awhile!
