Aww, shucks.

Other than a sinus infection in the left half of my head (which really hurts), I’ve been blushing, gushing and just happy today. See, last night, after resisting the idea for many a year, I decided to create a LinkedIn profile. My main reason is that I have decided there is a job I want to do, and to do it, I’ll need to be inside of a rather large company. I figured HR types might well want to check out my LinkedIn profile. So, I created one.

In doing so, I connected with friends and colleagues who also use LinkedIn. I asked for their help and support in posting some recommendations about me. A whole slew of colleagues, clients and friends have done just that. What I am loving about this process is the expanded experience I have in watching myself through another’s eyes. Now, of course, a recommendation is going to be glowing, or at least, shiny; otherwise, why write one, right? Still, the particular words that someone chooses to write about me are their particular view or experience of me. It’s been really sweet to read these statements.

Even sweeter, I wanted to do the same for them. I am feelin’ the love. Flowing in both directions. And it’s good.

  • Rock on with the LI profile… an absolute necessity in today’s job market (especially high tech)!

unless you’re already at the top and don’t need one because you’re networked out the booooty…

but, for most of us, it’s the former.
